The short version

  • We collect what you give us and what we need to run Brandfeeler.
  • AI providers process your content to do the work you ask for. We never train models on it.
  • We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
  • No advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
  • Email [email protected] to see, export or delete your data.

1. About this policy

This policy explains what personal data Brandfeeler ("we", "us") collects when you use brandfeeler.com and the Brandfeeler app (the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It works together with our Terms of Service.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address and password, or the profile and email your Google or GitHub account shares when you sign in with it.
  • Profile details you choose to add, such as your role, occupation, location, age range, gender, income, education and, only if you choose, ethnicity, religion or political views. These are optional, and some of them are sensitive; we ask for your consent before collecting them.
  • Your content: briefs, notes, uploads (logos, images, files and screen recordings), links you submit for analysis, and what you generate.
  • Waitlist sign-ups: your email address, the page that referred you and any campaign tags in the link.
  • Messages you send us, and conversations with the in-app assistant.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive your billing details and payment status, but not your full card number.

Information we collect automatically

  • Usage events on our public pages, such as page views and button clicks, with the referring page, your browser type and a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address. We do not store the IP address itself for these events.
  • Technical data needed to run and secure the Service, such as server logs and performance monitoring.
  • Cookies and browser storage, described in section 8.

Research participants

If you answer a Brandfeeler research survey (a "Pulse"), directly or through a research platform, we collect your responses and the details you agree to share, such as demographic information, plus your IP address, browser type and, where relevant, your participant ID on that platform. We collect these only with your consent, given when you start the survey.

3. How we use it

  • To provide the Service: create your account, generate and score what you ask for, save your work, and share it with the people you choose.
  • To process payments, manage plans and credits, and prevent fraud.
  • To keep the Service secure and reliable, and to find and fix problems.
  • To understand how our pages and features are used, so we can improve them.
  • To run research you take part in, and to show its results to the brands that commissioned it, in a form that does not identify you.
  • To email you about your account, your work and important changes, and, if you joined the waitlist or agreed to it, about product news. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

4. How AI features use your data

To generate and score your work, we send the relevant parts of your content (for example a brief, an image or a page) to AI model providers through their business APIs. They process it to return a result to us.

We do not use your content or outputs to train AI models. We have no plans to.

To keep AI features reliable, we record the requests and responses for AI tasks with our monitoring provider, LangSmith, and use them to investigate errors and quality problems. Images are removed from these records.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit how they can use it, and in the situations listed below.

  • AI models: Anthropic, OpenAI, Google (Gemini), Mistral, xAI, DeepSeek, Moonshot AI, Z.AI and Cloudflare Workers AI for text and images; RunPod, Replicate, KIE AI and ElevenLabs for images, video and audio.
  • AI monitoring: LangSmith (LangChain).
  • Hosting, storage and network: Akamai (Linode) cloud and object storage in the United States, and Cloudflare.
  • Payments: Stripe.
  • Email: Resend for account and service email, and Loops for waitlist and product news.
  • Performance monitoring: Scout APM.
  • Sign-in: Google and GitHub, if you choose to sign in with them.
  • Integrations you connect, such as Slack.
  • Research: Amazon Mechanical Turk, Prolific and Clickworker, for surveys run on those platforms, and Tremendous, which sends rewards to participants who earn them (it receives the participant's name and email).
  • Lookups you ask for: names you search are sent to trademark sources such as the USPTO and MarkerAPI, and to domain registries. Search terms are sent to Pexels and Pixabay when you look for stock images. When you submit a website for analysis, we visit that public page.
  • Legal and safety: when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or Brandfeeler.
  • Business transfers: if Brandfeeler is part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your data may transfer as part of it, under this policy.

6. How long we keep it

  • Account data and your content: for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except what we must keep by law.
  • Billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually 7 years.
  • Waitlist sign-ups: until we open access to you, or until you ask us to remove you.
  • Research responses: up to 3 years, as stated when you consent.
  • AI task records and logs: for a limited period, to investigate problems.

Backups are overwritten on a regular schedule, so deleted data may remain in them for a short time.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • give it to you in a portable format;
  • stop using it for a purpose you consented to, such as research or product emails.

You can download a copy of your data, or delete your account and everything in it, yourself under Settings in the app. Deleting your account also cancels any subscription. For anything else, email [email protected] from the address on your account. We will confirm who you are and reply within 45 days. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer, and we will respond to the appeal within 60 days.

If you live in Texas or another US state with a privacy law, these are your rights under that law; we do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to object to our use of your data and to complain to your local data protection authority. We use your data to perform our contract with you, with your consent, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in running and securing the Service.

8. Cookies and browser storage

We use only what the Service needs to work:

  • Sign-in: cookies and browser storage that keep you signed in (a short-lived access token, a refresh token that lasts up to 30 days, and a session cookie that lasts up to 30 days).
  • Preferences: browser storage for your light or dark theme and your cookie choices.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies. The usage events in section 2 are recorded on our own servers. You can manage your choices from the cookie banner, and you can clear cookies in your browser, though you will be signed out.

9. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls and private storage, and we limit access to the people and providers who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you think your account has been compromised.

10. Where your data is processed

We are based in the United States and store your data there. Our providers may process it in the United States and other countries where they operate. When we transfer data from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

11. Children

The Service is for people 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think we have, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
